Marriage Equality California is a nonpartisan, grassroots organization with the sole purpose of bringing about an end to marriage discrimination towards same-sex couples. We are a qualified 501(c)3 tax-exempt corporation, and donations to MECA are fully tax-deductible for Federal Income Tax purposes.

We believe that by launching a major grassroots movement to educate the public as we have done, we will succeed in opening peoples' minds and changing public opinion. We have local chapters in the San Francisco Bay Area, Los Angeles, Eureka, Sacramento, Long Beach, Orange County and more – all this without charging a membership fee!

Since the founding of Marriage Equality California in August, 2000, we have accomplished much, but there is MUCH more to do. Everything from the expense of acquiring our web site, to the printing and distribution of fliers, to the expense of telephone calls to coordinate events has been donated by members. As we grow as an organization, these expenses also grow. Now we need your help!
